Ivan Aska (ex SM Beermen) joins Al Ahli

The defending champion, Al Ahli Jeddah (SBL), has added 33-year old forward Ivan Aska to their roster. Aska, who is Puerto Rican-U.S. Virgin Islands, started the season playing for SM Beermen in the Filipino PBA league. In 8 games, he had impressive stats, averaging 24.3 points per game, 9.5 rebounds per game, 2.5 assists per game, and 2.1 steals per game. Last summer, he played for Soles in the Mexican league (LNBP).

He attempted to reach the NBA and participated in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2015.

He repped Puerto Rico at the Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador (El Salvador) last year.

In 2023, his team reached the Uruguay LUB Semifinals, earning him several awards. He was voted to the Latinbasket.com All-Uruguay LUB Honorable Mention.
