PBA Philippine Cup Round 6 of Semi-Finals. Hotshots advance into Finals

TNT Ka Tropa - SM Beermen 90-103

SM Beermen outgunned TNT Ka Tropa to force the decider. SM Beermen dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to TNT Ka Tropa's 32. They outrebounded TNT Ka Tropa 56-44 including 18 on the offensive glass. 24 personal fouls committed by TNT Ka Tropa helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was naturalized Tongan center Moala Tautuaa (200-89, college: Chadron St.) who scored 24 points and 5 rebounds. Center June Mar Fajardo (210-89) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds. Five SM Beermen players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized American guard Ryan Reyes (188-83, college: Cerritos JC, agency: BIG) who recorded 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Jeth Troy Rosario (201-92) added 10 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

Hotshots held off Meralco Bolts to advance into the Finals. Hotshots outrebounded Meralco Bolts 50-39 including 19 on the offensive glass. Meralco Bolts were plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for power forward Ian Paul Sangalang (201-91) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists. Swingman Rome dela Rosa (191-90) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Center Raymond Almazan (206-89) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and naturalized American Clifford Hodge (196-88, college: HPU) added 9 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Meralco Bolts. Five Hotshots and four Meralco Bolts players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
