Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai beat Al Bashaer 71-69 in the WASL 2022 opener. They grabbed a 21-18 lead at the start and added massive 25-8 surge in the second period. Al Bashaer meanwhile dominated the second half, but could not win the game.
Nick Minnerath (207-PF-1988, college: Detroit) top-scored for the winners with 18 points and Milan Milosevic (204-F-1985, agency: Interperformances) netted 17. Brandon Triche (193-G-1991, college: Syracuse) nailed 12, whilst Qais Alshabebi (200-C-1991) had 11. Ahmed Al Halhali and Aaron Parks (190-G-1994, college: CSUN) replied with 19 points each in a loss.
