Al Bashaer welcomes back Williams

Al Bashaer (D1) landed 31-year old American (has also Nigerian passport) 198cm shooting guard George Williams (college: WBU). It is actually his comeback to Al Bashaer as he has played here before. Williams played last summer at Reales in the LNB league in the Dominican Republic. In 14 games he averaged an impressive 16.0ppg, 2.8rpg, and 1.4apg. It was a very successful season in his career as he was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Dominican Rep. LNB Honorable Mention. The last season he was tested by Zakho (Superleague) in the Iraqi league.

He is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in eleven different countries playing on four different continents. Williams is familiar with Asian, Latin American, African, and of course North American leagues. He has played previously professionally in Argentina (Ferro), Belize (Tigersharks), Canada (Power and Highlanders), Chile (Puerto Varas), Mexico (Pioneros Los Mochis and Libertadores), United Kingdom, Bolivia (La Salle Tarija and Amistad), Egypt (Al Geish), Iraq (Al Kahraba), UBA (Houston Havok) and PBL (Lynchburg T.).

His team won the Belizean NEBL Regular Season in 2017.

Williams attended previously one of the camps at Eurobasket Summer League on the way to pro basketball.

He attended Wayland Baptist University until 2012 and it will be his eleventh season in pro basketball.
