The most exciting game of round 6 in the MBL took place in Uliastai. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 5th ranked Brothers (4-5) to first ranked Apes (8-2) 87-85 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Brothers. Apes maintains first position with 8-2 record. Brothers at the other side dropped to the seventh place with five games lost. American guard Davion Warren (198-1999, college: Texas Tech) had a double-double by scoring 28 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Erdenetsogt Ochirbat chipped in 11 points and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. BCH Knights maintains second position with 7-1 record behind leader Apes. Metal lost third consecutive game. A very close game took place in Ulaanbaatar between Broncos and United. Third ranked Broncos (6-3) got a very close home victory over their close opponent United (4-4). Broncos managed to escape with a 3-point win 84-81 in the game for the third place. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of United. Ian Miller notched 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort. Even 23 points and 5 rebounds by Dulguun Uganbayar did not help to save the game for Darkhan. Defending champion maintains third position with 6-3 record having just three points less than leader Apes. Loser United dropped to the fourth place with four games lost. They share the position with Selenge and Miners. There were no big surprises in other games of round 6: Metal was beaten by Miners on the road 78-70. Xac Broncos won against Miners on its own court 76-67. Bottom-ranked Mongolians were outscored by BCH Knights in Ulaanbaatar 98-78. Falcons recorded a loss to Selenge at home 88-98. Falcons defeated Mongolians on the opponent's court 93-91.
The most impressive performance of 6th round was 40 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 5 assists by Byron Wesley of Mongolians.



Miners - Metal 78-70

There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Miners (4-4) beat 4th ranked Metal (4-6) in Erdenet 78-70 on Wednesday. Miners looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Bolor-Erdene Gantsolmon notched a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 assists to lead the effort and Enkhbayasgalan Amgalan supported him with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Even 15 points by American guard Davion Warren (198-1999, college: Texas Tech) did not help to save the game for Metal. Ch Margad added 9 points and 6 rebounds. Miners moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Darkhan and Selenge. Metal lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. Miners will again meet at home Metal (#8) in the next round. Metal will have a break next round.
