MBL Round 19 (Regular Season): BCH Garid defeat Miners

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Miners (25-3) in Erdenet on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked BCH Garid (24-4) 75-62. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Miners. BCH Garid made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Davaadorj Dulguunmurun (193-1999) who helped to win the game recording 11 points and 8 rebounds. Canadian guard Devoe Joseph (193-1990, college: Oregon) contributed with 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. The former international swingman Temuujin Ariunbold (195-1992) answered with 21 points and 6 rebounds for Miners. BCH Garid have a solid series of four victories in a row. Newly promoted BCH Garid maintains third place with 24-4 record behind leader Miners. Defending champion Miners still keep top position with three games lost.
Important game to mention about took place in Dalanzadgad. Tenth ranked Mongolians (9-19) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 11th ranked Umnugovi (8-20) 97-94 in the fight for the tenth place. It was a great evening for American swingman Kaden Archie (198-2000, college: Georgia South) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 45 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds. Oyunzul Bayanbaatar helped adding 16 points. At the losing side American-Mexican Durrell Summers (196-1989, college: Michigan St.) responded with 36 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Mongolians maintains tenth place with 9-19 record. Umnugovi lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 20 games lost.
The game between 13th ranked Sharks (4-22) and fourth ranked Metal (20-8) in Ulaanbaatar on Monday ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Ulaanbaatar outscored Sharks 111-92. It was a quality performance for Jahlil Tripp who led the winners and scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. Dash-Ochir Bau-Ulziy came up with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for Sharks in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Metal have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 20-8 record. Sharks at the other side stay dead last with 22 lost games. They share the position with Darkhan.

In the last two games of round 19 Bison beat Mongolians on the road 88-80. Darkhan lost to Selenge on its own court 78-83.
The most impressive performance of 19th round was 26 points and 7 rebounds by Sam Thompson of Darkhan.




Umnugovi - Mongolians 94-97

Important game to mention about took place in Dalanzadgad. Tenth ranked Mongolians (9-19) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 11th ranked Umnugovi (8-20) 97-94 in the fight for the tenth place. Mongolians forced 20 Umnugovi turnovers. Strangely Umnugovi outrebounded Mongolians 56-38 including a 37-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Mongolians players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was a great evening for American swingman Kaden Archie (198-2000, college: Georgia South) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 45 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds. Oyunzul Bayanbaatar helped adding 16 points. At the losing side American-Mexican Durrell Summers (196-1989, college: Michigan St.) responded with 36 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and Otgondorj Sodnomjamts produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 20 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Mongolians maintains tenth place with 9-19 record. Umnugovi lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 20 games lost.

The game between 13th ranked Sharks (4-22) and fourth ranked Metal (20-8) in Ulaanbaatar on Monday ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Ulaanbaatar outscored Sharks 111-92. Metal shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 51.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Sharks' players. It was a quality performance for American forward Jahlil Tripp (196-1997, college: Pacific, agency: Green Sports Management) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. Sukhbat Batzorig (192-2000) accounted for 24 points for the winning side. Five Metal players scored in double figures. Mongolians - Bison 80-88

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Bizon (15-14) beat 10th ranked Mongolians (9-19) in Ulaanbaatar 88-80 on Monday. Bison made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Mongolians turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for the former international guard Sanchir Tungalag (193-1989) who led the winners and scored 32 points and 9 rebounds. Nigerian-American guard George A. Williams II (198-1990, college: Wayland Baptist) accounted for 28 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Williams II is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American swingman Kaden Archie (198-2000, college: Georgia South) came up with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Oyunzul Bayanbaatar added 22 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Mongolians in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Bison maintains sixth place with 15-14 record. Mongolians lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 19 games lost.

Rather expected game when 12th ranked United (4-22) lost to ninth ranked Bodons (11-18) in Darkhan 78-83 on Monday. Selenge forced 19 Darkhan turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Tulga Otgondari (180-2000) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 4 assists. American guard William Jr. Stanford (190-1998, college: Mobile, AL) accounted for 15 points for the winning side. Five Bodons players scored in double figures. American forward Sam Thompson (200-1992, college: Ohio St.) came up with 26 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Jarvis Summers (190-1993, college: Ole Miss, agency: Haylett Sports) added 7 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for Darkhan in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Selenge moved-up to eighth place. Darkhan lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with 22 games lost. They share it with Sharks.
