Adroit - Pegasus 93-82 Very important is a road loss of second ranked Pegasus (2-3) against fifth ranked Adroit (3-3) on Saturday night. Visiting Pegasus were defeated by Adroit in Singapore 93-82. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Adroit outrebounded Pegasus 61-47 including a 49-37 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Thailand Moses Morgan (198-1992, college: CS Fullerton) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 18 rebounds and Costa Rican-Belizean Charles Garcia (204-1988, college: Seattle) who added 18 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side American center Ryan Smith (213-1995, college: Tulane) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 23 rebounds and 4 assists and Filipino forward Andrian Celada (190-1988) scored 13 points. Four Pegasus players scored in double figures. Pegasus' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Adroit have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Penang SY. Pegasus at the other side dropped to the bottom position with three games lost. They share it with KL Aseel. Adroit will play against KL Aseel (#5) in Kuala Lumpur in the next round. Pegasus will play at home against the league's leader Johor Tigers and hope to get back on the winning track. This time they won against fourth-ranked KL Aseel 88-83. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Penang SY outrebounded KL Aseel 50-39 including 18 on the offensive glass. The winners were led by Australian Jean-Luc Morel who had that evening a double-double by scoring 13 points, 23 rebounds and 5 blocks and Jayson Lee supported him with 28 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). Even a double-double of 18 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists by Filipino guard Jai Reyes (173-1987) did not help to save the game for KL Aseel. The former international guard Wei-Long Tan (188-1993) added 13 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. KL Aseel's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Penang SY (3-3) moved-up to second place, which they share with Adroit. KL Aseel lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Pegasus. Penang SY will meet NS Matrix (#4) in the next round. KL Aseel will play against the league's second-placed Adroit and hope to secure a win. Johor Tigers smashed their biggest opponent NS Matrix in Johor Baharu 83-60. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of NS Matrix. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Johor Tigers forced 31 NS Matrix turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Tevin Glass (206-1994, college: ETSU, agency: BIG) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. International point guard Yee-Tong Heng (178-1998) contributed with 18 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Johor Tigers players scored in double figures. The former international power forward Chun-Hong Ting (193-1996) replied with 21 points and 7 rebounds and the former international center Lok-Seng Mak (194-1994) added 4 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for NS Matrix. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. NS Matrix at the other side dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. NS Matrix will play next round against strong Penang SY trying to get back on the winning streak. Johor Tigers will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Pegasus in Bandar Seri Begawan.
