Michael Watkins (ex Spartans) signs at Homentmen

Homentmen Beirut (DLBL) signed 30-year old American 206cm forward Michael Watkins (college: Penn State) for the upcoming season. He last played at Spartans in the Venezuelan SPB league. In 12 games he averaged 13.3ppg, 9.5rpg, and 1.4bpg last season, earning him the title of League Player of the Week. Prior to that, he played for Hunan Changsha (NBL) in the Chinese league and Al Ittihad Jeddah (SBL) in the Saudi Arabian league.
Watkins, a highly experienced player, has traveled extensively during his pro career, playing in eleven different countries on four continents. He has played professionally in China, Colombia, Israel (Hapoel Haifa), Mexico (Soles), Philippines (Warriors), Saudi Arabia, Dominican Republic (Metros, Parque Hostos, Indios, Titanes and Million), Lebanon (Antonine), NBA G League (Delaware Blue Coats) and The Basketball Tournament (HV Hoopers). In 2026, his team reached the Final Four in Saudi Arabia.
He was selected to Asia-Basket.com All-Lebanese League All-Imports Team in 2025 among many awards.
He graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 2020 and this will be his seventh season in pro basketball.
