Amman United tabs Ihab Al-Zuhairi

Ihab Al-Zuhairi

Amman United (Premier League) signed 27-year-old Iraqi international 210cm power forward Ihab Al-Zuhairi. He began the season at CJS Batroun in the Lebanese DLBL, where he averaged 6.7ppg, 9.0rpg, and 1.0bpg in three games. Last season, he played for Al-Difaa Aljawie (Superleague) in the Iraqi league, putting up impressive stats of 15.3ppg, 14.7rpg, and 2.3apg in 23 games.

Al-Zuhairi helped his team win the Iraqi League title three times and was named Asia-Basket.com All-Iraqi League Domestic Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and Finals MVP.
He has also been a member of the Iraqi international program for some years. Al-Zuhairi has regularly played for the Iraqi senior team since 2016 and previously for the Under 18 National Team back in 2016.

He also represented Iraq at the FIBA Asia Cup in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) last year. During this event, he scored an average of 7.3 points per game and had 8 rebounds per game.

Al-Zuhairi has also played in Lebanon, Uruguay (Larranaga), and Iraq (Al Hilla, Al Karkh, Al Naft, and Air Defence Sporting Club).
He received the Asia-Basket.com All-Iraqi League Player of the Year award in 2021.
