Defending champion ASC Ville de Dakar (N1M) strengthened their roster with the addition of experienced 38-year-old Lebanese-South Sudanese international center Ater Majok (210cm-106kg-1987, college: UConn, agency: BIG). It is actually his comeback to Dakar as he has played here before. He started the season at Rajawali in the Indonesian IBL league. In 10 games just recently, he recorded 14.8ppg, 12.7rpg, 1.8apg, and 3.0bpg.
During the 2025-26 season, he split his time between Dar City Basketball Team (NBL) in the Tanzanian league and Shabab Al Ahli Dubai (ULB) in the UAE league.
In 2011, a year after graduating, he was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers (NBA) in the second round (58th overall). Majok graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2010, and this will be his 16th season in pro basketball.
He is quite an experienced player. Thanks to Majok's pro career, he managed to play on five different continents (Asia, Latin America, Australia, Africa, and North America) in 21 different countries. Majok has played professionally in Australia (Breakers), Bahrain (Al-Muharraq), Belarus, China (Shaanxi), Germany, Iraq (Zakho), Korea, Lebanon (Al Riyadi, Beirut Club, and Maristes), Mexico (Mineros), Poland, Qatar (Al Arabi), Slovakia, Taiwan, Tunisia (US Monastir and Ezzahra), Turkey, Venezuela (Trotamundos and Piratas), Angola (Atletico Petroleos de Luanda), Burundi (Urunani), Libya (Ahly Benghazi), and Kenya (Thunder).
Among many awards, he won the Senegalese League championship title in 2025. He was also voted Afrobasket.com All-Libyan League Defensive Player of the Year back in 2022. It's very possible he may end his playing career at ASC Ville de Dakar.
