Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The biggest surprise of round 10 in WLBL was guest Antranik's (5-5) road victory over NSA (#7) 59-56 on Wednesday evening. American center Jillian Hollingshead (196-2003, college: Tennessee) fired a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. The other American import guard Kennedi Williams (170, college: Oregon) chipped in 23 points and 4 assists. Siritta Faraj produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Despite that victory Antranik went down to fifth position due to points difference. NSA at the other side keeps the seventh place with six games lost. Antranik are looking forward to face Almtayleb (#9) in the next round. NSA will play against the league's second-placed Homentmen in Antelias and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Beirut: Al Riyadi (#1) and Antranik (#4). Al Riyadi (9-1) smashed visiting Antranik (5-5) by 32 points 87-55. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Antranik. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Rebecca Akl (170-1992) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists. Sarah Boothe contributed with 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American center Jillian Hollingshead (196-2003, college: Tennessee) replied with 20 points and 9 rebounds for Antranik. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains first position with 9-1 record, which they share with Homentmen. Antranik at the other side dropped to the fifth place with five games lost. Al Riyadi will play against Damour (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Antranik will play against Almtayleb and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Chyna Cornwell had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 32 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners. At the losing side Siritta Faraj responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 18 rebounds. Beirut FC moved-up to fourth place. Loser NSA keeps the seventh position with six games lost. Beirut FC will meet at home Bkennaya (#6) in the next round. NSA will play against the league's second-placed Homentmen in Antelias and hope to secure a win.

In the last two games of round 10 Almtayleb was crushed by Azour in a road game 101-62. Damour was beaten by Homentmen at home 64-81.

Al Riyadi - Antranik 87-55

Azour - Almtayleb 101-62

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Almtayleb (1-9) was crushed on the road by third ranked Azour (8-2) 101-62 on Saturday. Azour dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Almtayleb's 26. They outrebounded Almtayleb 52-28 including a 33-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Azour looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Almtayleb's players. American forward LeLe Grissett (188, college: S.Carolina) had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Sabrina Haines (178-1997, college: Kentucky) chipped in 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Azour players scored in double figures. Azour's coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American Aliyah Matharu (170-2001, college: Baylor) responded with 38 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and Mexican Aixchel Hernandez (185-2003, college: CS Fullerton) scored 9 points and 11 rebounds. Azour have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 8-2 record behind leader Al Riyadi. Almtayleb lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with nine games lost. Azour will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Almtayleb will play against Antranik (#5) and hope to win that game.

American Chyna Cornwell (190-2001, college: Rutgers) had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 32 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Rwandan guard Destiney Philoxy (170-2000, college: UMass) chipped in 11 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Four Beirut FC players scored in double figures. At the losing side Siritta Faraj responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 18 rebounds and Ukrainian center Olesia Malashenko (191-1991) scored 13 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Beirut FC moved-up to fourth place. Loser NSA keeps the seventh position with six games lost. Beirut FC will meet at home Bkennaya (#6) in the next round. NSA will play against the league's second-placed Homentmen in Antelias and hope to secure a win.

Damour - Homentmen A. 64-81

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Homentmen (9-1) defeated on the road 8th ranked Damour (2-8) 81-64 on Saturday. Homentmen looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American center Angel Baker (173-2000, college: Ole Miss) scored 23 points and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Reem El Ghali (181-2007) chipped in 16 points during the contest. At the losing side American Sonia Smith (170, college: GMU) responded with 18 points and 5 assists and her fellow American import Alexa Hart (190-1995, college: Ohio St.) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Damour's coach rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Homentmen keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Al Riyadi. Newly promoted Damour keeps the eighth place with eight games lost. Homentmen will meet at home NSA (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Damour will play against the league's leader Al Riyadi and hope to secure a win.
