DLBL Round 4 (Regular Season): Hoops are defeated by Al Riyadi in a derby game

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Beirut: Al Riyadi (#3) and Hoops (#7). Hoops were smashed at home by 24 points 81-105 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Al Riyadi dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Hoops' 42. Al Riyadi looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Croatian power forward Ivan Buva (207-1991) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and American Maurice Kemp (203-1991, college: ECU) who added 18 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American Kedrian Johnson (190-1999, college: WVU) responded with 32 points and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Al Riyadi have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion (4-0) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Sagesse and Homentmen. Hoops at the other side keep the seventh place with three games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Al Riyadi is looking forward to face Maristes (#5) in Dik El Mehdi in the next round. Hoops will have a break next round.

Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Antranik (1-3) left bottom position moving up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Anyeuri Castillo fired 34 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field) for the winners. Dorian Benford produced 17 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Al Markaziyyah have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 4-1 record. Loser Tadamon still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Batroun.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 4: NSA lost to Maristes on the opponent's court 86-103. Antonine lost to undefeated Sagesse in a home game 91-95. Al Markaziyyah rolled over NSA on the road 96-64.

Tadamon - Al Markaziyyah 70-93

This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fourth consecutive match to fourth ranked Al Markaziyyah (4-1) 93-70 on Tuesday evening. Al Markaziyyah outrebounded Tadamon 50-33 including 16 on the offensive glass. Al Markaziyyah looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists.
