Al Riyadi inks Perrin Buford, ex Shinshu BW

Perrin Buford

Defending champion Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut (DLBL) agreed terms with 31-year old American forward Perrin Buford (198cm-100kg-1994, college: MTSU, agency: Pensack Sports) for the new 2025-26 season. He was the top scorer at Shinshu Brave Warriors Nagano in the Japanese B2 League last season, with very impressive stats: 19.2ppg, 9.4rpg, 6.8apg, and 1.3spg. He helped them reach the semifinals. In the 2024-25 season, he was voted Asia-Basket.com All-Japanese B2 League Import Player of the Year, Asia-Basket.com All-Japanese B2 League Player of the Year, and Forward of the Year. For the previous four seasons (2020-24), he played for another Japanese team, Magic (B1 League) in Japan.
Buford is a very experienced player. Buford's career allowed him to visit five different continents, while he played in eight different countries. He tasted the life as a pro basketball player in Europe, Asia, Latin America, Australia and of course North America. Buford has played professionally in Australia (Bullets), China (Sturgeons), Italy (Agrigento), Puerto Rico (Criollos), Russia (Avtodor), Spain (Joventut) and Turkey (Gaziantep and Yesilgiresun).
His college team won the C-USA Tournament in 2016.
He graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 2016 and it will be his tenth season as a professional player. Buford played for other colleges like Southwest Tennessee Community College and Motlow State College.
