Al Markaziyyah tabs Donte McGill, ex Al Nasr

Donte McGill

Club Centrale Al Markaziyyah Jounieh (DLBL) signed 30-year-old American 190cm guard Donte McGill (college: FIU). He was the top scorer at Al Nasr in the Saudi Arabian SBL league last season where in 16 games he recorded very impressive stats: 32.7ppg, 7.8rpg, 3.1apg, and 1.9spg. Great season indeed as he was awarded Asia-Basket.com All-Saudi Arabian SBL Import Player of the Year, Asia-Basket.com All-Saudi Arabian SBL Player of the Year, and Guard of the Year. The previous (2023-24) season he played at Al Wahda Damascus (also in SBL) in Syria. He also played for Al Wehda Mecca (also in SBL).
In 2017, he was selected by the Lakeland Magic (G-League) in the fourth round (81st overall) of the draft.
McGill graduated from FIU and it will be his 9th season in pro hoops.
He is a very experienced player. McGill has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to six different countries on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America). He has played professionally in Kazakhstan (Barsy Atyrau), Poland (Stal), Qatar (Al Wakrah), Syria and NBA G League (Delaware Blue Coats).
McGill won the Syrian League championship title in 2024.
It is worth mentioning that he also played at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him secure a job in professional basketball. In addition to that, he played for other colleges such as Vincennes University and Goldey-Beacom College.
