Al Ittihad Tripoli (D1) agreed terms with experienced 61-year-old Lebanese-Italian coach Fouad Abou Chakra. It is actually his comeback to Tripoli as he used to coach here before. He coached this summer at Al Ahly Tripoli in the D1.
He has coached in Lebanon (Maristes), Saudi Arabia (Al Ahli and Ohod), and Syria. Abou Chakra won the Basketball Africa League championship title in 2025 and the cup in 2025. He was voted Afrobasket.com All-Basketball Africa League Coach of the Year in 2025.
