Al Riyadi tabs Ivan Buva

Ivan Buva

Defending champion Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut (LBL) inked experienced 34-year old Croatian ex-international 207cm power forward Ivan Buva. Buva played most recently at Tabiat in Iranian Superleague. In 12 West Asia Super League games he was league's third best scorer with impressive 18.6ppg and recorded 9.3rpg (#4 in the league) and 2.4apg last season. He helped them to make it to the West Asia Super League Final 8 final after they ended regular season as second best team.
Buva was also a member of Croatian international program for some years. He played for Croatian Senior National Team between 2017 and 2018 and previously for U20 National Team back in 2011.
Buva represented Croatia at the European Championship (FIBA EuroBasket) eight years ago. His stats at that event were 2 games: 6.5ppg, 3.0rpg.
He is a very experienced player. Buva has played also professionally in Bosnia (Siroki), China (Anhui Wenyi), France (Monaco and JL Bourg), Italy (Verona and Avellino), Japan (Grouses and Lakestars), Lithuania (Rytas), Spain (Surne Bilbao), Turkey (Besiktas, Gaziantep and Istanbul Buyuksehir Belediyesi) and Croatia (Cedevita, HAKK Mladost Zagreb and Krizevci).
Among many awards he was voted to Asia-Basket.com All-Japanese B League Honorable Mention in 2023.
