Nelson's double-double lands him Player of the Week award

26-year old American point guard Sa'eed Nelson (188-PG-1998) had a very impressive game in the last round for Antranik Beirut and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 15.
He had a double-double of 29 points and 12 rebounds, while his team edged out Maristes (#8, 5-9) 91-89. Antranik is placed at 5th position in Lebanese league. Antranik is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 7-6 record. In the team's last game Nelson had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Antranik, being already a very valuable addition to the team. The American University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Nelson is in league's top in assists (5th best: 6.8apg) and averages solid 2.3spg and 52.8% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was A.J. English (192-G-1992) of Hoops Club. He is American guard in his first season at Hoops. In the last game English recorded an impressive 49 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists. Bad luck as Hoops was edged by the higher-ranked Sagesse (#3, 12-2) 110-107. Hoops managed to keep the same 7th spot in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 7-7 record is not bad and everything may still change. English is one of the most experienced players at Hoops and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.2ppg (#5). He also recorded 6.6 assists per game.

Third place about best performers goes to center Henry Sims (208-C-1990) of CS Maristes (#8). Sims scored 26 points and grabbed 14 rebounds (!!!). Despite Sims' great performance the Maristes lost 89-91 to the higher-ranked Antranik (#5, 7-6). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Maristes not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 9 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Sims could try to bring Maristes' a little bit higher in the standings. Sims has individually a great season in Lebanon. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 12.8rpg (2nd best).
