Zach Lofton joins Sagesse

Zach Lofton

Sagesse - Al Hekmeh Beirut (LBL) has agreed terms with 31-year-old American guard Zach Lofton (193cm-82kg-1993, college: NM State, agency: Slash Sports) for the new 2024-25 season. He joins another USA player Clinton Chapman who is already on the roster. Lofton will continue to stay in Lebanon, where he was the top scorer at Al Riyadi. He played in three leagues in two countries last year, including for Homentmen Beirut in 11 LBL games with impressive stats: 21.8ppg, 7.7rpg, 4.2apg, and 1.5spg, helping them reach the semifinals. Lofton also briefly played for Bolts (PBA) in the Filipino league, where he had remarkable stats in 3 games: 35.7ppg, 7.3rpg, and 4.3apg, earning him the title of League Player of the Week. Additionally, he played briefly for Al Alhy Benghazi (D1) in the Libyan league.
Lofton is a very experienced player. His career has taken him to four different continents, playing in nine different countries. He has played professionally in China (Liaoning Yi Sheng), Germany (Seawolves), Kuwait (Kazma), the Philippines, Libya (Ahly Benghazi), the NBA G League (Grand Rapids Gold), the NBA Summer League (Milwaukee Bucks), and The Basketball Tournament (Panamaniacs). Lofton won the Basketball League Asia championship title in 2024.
Among many awards, he was voted Asia-Basket.com All-Lebanese League Guard of the Year in 2023.
Lofton graduated from New Mexico State University in 2018 and it'll be his seventh season as a pro player. He played for other colleges such as Texas Southern University, University of Minnesota, Illinois State University, and San Jacinto College.
