Defending champion Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut (LBL) re-signed experienced 35-year old Bosnian ex-international 211cm center Elmedin Kikanovic for upcoming season. Kikanovic played there last season. In 28 LBL games he averaged 14.6ppg and 6.5rpg. He helped them to win the league title (in both Lebanese League and West Asia Super League Group West Asia !!!). A very good season in his career as he was awarded Asia-Basket.com All-Lebanese League Import Player of the Year, Asia-Basket.com All-Lebanese League Player of the Year and Center of the Year. Kikanovic also played 15 games in West Asia Super League where he had very impressive stats: 17.7ppg and 7.8rpg. It was a very successful season in his career as he was voted to Asiabasket.com All-West Asia Super League Final 8 Second Team.
The previous (2023) summer he played at Al Nasr (D1) in Libyan league. He contributed to his team ending the regular season as at the second position in the league.
Kikanovic was also a member of Bosnia and Herzegovina international program for some years. He played for Bosnia and Herzegovina Senior National Team between 2006 and 2018 and previously for U18 National Team back in 2006.
Kikanovic also represented Bosnia at the Qualifications to European Championships (FIBA EuroBasket) 2017 eight years ago. His stats at that event were 4 games: 5.0ppg, 1.0rpg.
He is a very experienced player. Kikanovic has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to nine different countries on three different continents (Europe, Asia and Africa). He has played previously professionally in France (Monaco and Sluc Nancy), Germany (ALBA Berlin), Italy, Kuwait (Kuwait), Russia (Enisey), Serbia (Crvena Zvezda), Turkey (Ormanspor), Bosnia (OKK Sloboda Tuzla) and United Arab Emirates (Al Sharjah).
Among many awards he received Eurobasket.com All-French ProA Bosman/Cotonou Player of the Year award back in 2018.
