29-year old guard Wael Arakji (193-G-1994) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's best team Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 17.
He got a double-double of 25 points and 11 assists, while his team beat Sagesse (#3, 13-5) 113-99. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Al Riyadi to consolidate first place in the Lebanese league. Al Riyadi have a solid 15-3 record. In the team's last game Arakji had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 7 attempts. It's his second year at Al Riyadi and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Arakji has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in assists (6th best: 4.0apg).

Second best performed player last round was Dewayne Jackson (203-F-1990) of Homentmen Beirut. He is American forward in his first season at Homentmen. In the last game Jackson recorded an impressive double-double of 27 points and 14 rebounds. Of course Homentmen cruised to a 94-84 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked NSA (#8, 5-13). Homentmen's 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 12-6 record is not bad and everything may still change. Jackson is a newcomer at Homentmen and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.3ppg (#7). He also registered 6.8 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Jonathan Gibson (188-PG-1987) of Sagesse - Al Hekmeh Beirut (#3). Gibson got into 30-points club by scoring 34 points in the last round. He went also for eight assists. Despite Gibson's great performance the Sagesse lost 99-113 to #1 ranked Al Riyadi. But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Sagesse needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 13 victories and 5 lost games. Gibson has a very solid season. In 8 games in Lebanon he scored 23.0ppg. He also has 4.9apg, a FGP of 62.2% and 3PT: 41.6%.
