Rayvonte Rice (ex Sagesse) joins Steelers

The Kaohsiung Steelers (PLeague+) have reached an agreement with Rayvonte Rice, a 31-year-old American guard from Illinois. Rice previously played for Sagesse in the Lebanese LBL league. In the last season, he played for the Suns in the Taiwanese T1 League, where he was the top scorer with an impressive 29.7ppg. He also averaged 7.1rpg, 3.5apg, and 2.5spg, ranking in the top three in these categories. Rice's performance helped the Suns reach the semifinals, and he was recognized as the League Player of the Week and named to the Asia-basket.com All-Taiwanese T1 League Second Team.
He attempted to reach the NBA and participated in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2015.
He's a highly experienced player, having played in thirteen different countries across four continents. He's had professional stints in Canada (Honey Badgers), France (Aix Maurienne), Greece (AEK Athens and Ionikos), Iran (Petrochimi), Israel (Hapoel Eilat and Ironi Nes Ziona), Italy (Verona, Jesi, and Ravenna), Japan (Kyoto Hannaryz), Mexico (Soles), Russia (Avtodor), NBA G League (SLC Stars), Dominican Republic (Indios), and NBA Summer League (Phoenix Suns).
In 2018, his college team reached the final of the Italian Serie A2 Cup, earning numerous awards. In 2021, he was selected for the Asia-Basket.com Japanese B League All-Imports Team.
He graduated from the University of Illinois in 2015 and this is his ninth season as a pro player. He also played for Drake University for 2 years.
