Akl comes back to Club Beirut

Sporting Club Beirut (WLBL) inked 30-year old former Lebanese-Brazilian international 170cm point guard Rebecca Akl. Akl is the second import player in the roster as Canadian Emily Potter signed here earlier.
It is actually her comeback to Beirut as she has played here before. She started the season at OA Chania in Greek A1 league. In 20 games she recorded 13.5ppg, 6.1rpg, 6.2apg (top 2) and 1.3spg. Great season indeed as she was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Greek League Honorable Mention.
Akl also represented Lebanon at the FIBA Asia Cup Division B in India six years ago. Her team won Bronze and her stats at that event were 5 games: Score-5 (16.0ppg), 3.4rpg, 3.4apg, 2.0spg, FGP: 40.9%, 3PT: 31.8%, FT: 79.3%.
She is a very experienced player. Akl has played also professionally in Spain (Leganes), Czech Republic (KP Brno), Greece (Esperides and PAOK Thessaloniki) and Lebanon (Homentmen Antelias, Al Riyadi and Champville). She won Lebanese League championship title in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2018, 2021 and 2022 and the cup in 2015 and 2016.
