Dynamo - Al Riyadi 81-88 The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Dynamo (3-1) in Beirut on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Al Riyadi (4-0) 88-81. It ended at the same time the 21-game winning streak of Dynamo. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Al Riyadi made 7 blocks. South Sudanese-Australian center Duop Reath (210-1996, college: LSU) fired a double-double by scoring 30 points, 12 rebounds and 6 blocks for the winners. American guard Kevin Murphy (197-1990, college: Tenn Tech) chipped in 17 points. American guard Zach Lofton (193-1992, college: NM State, agency: Slash Sports) produced 30 points and the former international point guard Jad Khalil (186-1996) added 13 points respectively for lost side. Dynamo's coach Jad El Hajj rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Al Riyadi have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Beirut Club outrebounded Hoops 43-28 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Hoops' players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Karam Mechref (187-1992) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international power forward Mohamad Haidar (203-1990, college: Michigan Tech) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Beirut Club's coach Marwan Khalil felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Roosevelt Scott (193, college: Central Mo.) replied with 25 points and point guard Joseph Zaloum (180-1990) added 9 points and 7 assists in the effort for Hoops. Host Homentmen was defeated by Liders in Beirut 109-95. They made 24-of-27 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Liders had a 27-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Stanley Davis Jr (196-1998, college: Morgan St.) who helped to win the game recording 32 points and guard Youssef Ghantous (191-1996) who added 27 points and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side American guard Mark Lyons (185-1989, college: Arizona) responded with 40 points (!!!) (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) and Mohamad Kreidi scored 19 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Homentmen's coach tested twelve players and allowed the starting five to rest. Liders left bottom position moving up to third place, which they share with defeated Homentmen. Liders will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sagesse forced 21 Champville turnovers and outrebounded them 48-34 including 36 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Champville's players.
