Best players of Lebanese LBL round 16- January 21, 2023
The 27-year old had a double-double of 34 points and twenty rebounds, while his team beat Hoops (#6, 5-8) 80-74. It allowed Sagesse to consolidate first place in the Lebanese LBL. Sagesse has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 13-1. In the team's last game Alexander had a remarkable 61.9% from 2-point range. He turned to be Sagesse's top player in his first season with the team. University of Kansas graduate has very impressive stats this year. Alexander is in league's top in points (2nd best: 25.5ppg) and averages solid 1.6bpg and 66.5% FGP. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American guard Myles Carter (185-G-1999) of Atlas. Carter impressed basketball fans with 29 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Atlas lost that game 77-83 to slightly higher-ranked NSA (#8, 5-9). This loss caused Atlas to drop to 10th position in the standings. 10 lost games are too many comparing to just four victories Atlas managed to get this year. Carter is a newcomer at Atlas and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.1ppg (#6). His other stats are also decent: 7.8rpg and 4.3apg. The third best performed player last round was international forward Mohamad Haidar (203-F/C-1990) of Beirut Club (#3). Haidar scored 27 points and grabbed ten rebounds. He was a key player of Beirut Club, leading his team to a 97-88 win against the lower-ranked Byblos (#12, 1-13). Beirut Club is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 12-2 record is not that bad... Haidar has a great season in Lebanon. After 13 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.2ppg (9th best). Other top performing players last week: 4. Omar Jamaleddine (193-G-2000) of Beirut Club - 22 points and 8 rebounds 5. Alex Peacock (199-PF-1997) of Liders - 21 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists 6. David Stanley (175-G) of Liders - 27 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists 7. Victor Bermudez (193-G-1992) of Byblos - 22 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists 8.
