LBL Round 15: Dynamo keeps a leadership position

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Dynamo as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Dynamo smashed 7th ranked Atlas in Beirut 101-62. Dynamo dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Atlas' 28 and made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Atlas 44-27 including 16 on the offensive glass. Dynamo looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Atlas' players. It was a good game for international power forward Karim Ezzeddine (206-1997, college: N.Mexico) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Zach Lofton (193-1992, college: NM State, agency: Slash Sports) contributed with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Dynamo's coach Jad El Hajj felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Myles Carter (185-1999, college: Delaware St.) answered with 25 points for Atlas. Dynamo (12-1) have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Atlas at the other side dropped to the ninth place with nine games lost. They share the position with NSA.
The game in Zahle was also worth to mention about. 5th ranked Champville (6-6) played at the court of seventh ranked Atlas (4-9). Atlas managed to secure a 6-point victory 78-72. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Champville. It was a great evening for American guard Myles Carter (185-1999, college: Delaware St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. George Yves-Daaboul helped adding 13 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American forward Ruot Monyyong (210-1998, college: UALR) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds. Despite that victory Atlas went down to ninth position due to points difference, which they share with NSA. Champville at the other side keeps the fifth place with six games lost.
The game in supposed to be also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Al Riyadi (10-2) played at the court of 7th ranked Liders (4-8). Al Riyadi smashed Liders 107-85 on Monday. It was an exceptional evening for Amir Saoud who led the winners and scored 32 points and 5 rebounds. Coach Ahmad Farran's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. David Stanley came up with 20 points and 7 rebounds for Liders in the defeat. Al Riyadi moved-up to third place, which they share with Beirut Club. Newly promoted Liders keep the seventh position with eight games lost. They share it with Antranik.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 15: Dynamo smashed Byblos on the road 100-78. NSA lost to defending champion Beirut Club on its own court 71-86. Sagesse outscored Homentmen in Beirut 92-67. NSA managed to beat Byblos at home 86-69.
The most impressive performance of 15th round was 24 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists by Dallas Morgan of NSA.



Byblos - Dynamo 78-100

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Dynamo (12-1) crushed on the road bottom-ranked Byblos (1-12) 100-78 on Thursday. Dynamo dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Byblos' 26. Dynamo forced 19 Byblos turnovers and outrebounded them 45-28 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Zach Lofton (193-1992, college: NM State, agency: Slash Sports) who led the winners and scored 24 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. The former international guard Gabriel Salibi (203-1997, college: Northeastern St.) accounted for 14 points and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Four Dynamo players scored in double figures. Dynamo's coach Jad El Hajj felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Victor Bermudez (193-1992, college: Texas St., agency: BIG) came up with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists and the other American import forward Dontarius James (203-1999, college: Howard) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Byblos in the defeat. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Dynamo. They keep a position of league leader. Byblos lost their sixth game in a row. They stay at the bottom place with 12 games lost.

NSA - Beirut Club 71-86

Very expected game when 10th ranked NSA (4-9) lost at home to third ranked Beirut Club (10-2) 86-71 on Friday. It was a great shooting night for Beirut Club especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Beirut Club made 8 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Kenneth Horton (201-1989, college: CCSU) who led the winners and scored 27 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks. His fellow American import guard Kenny Hayes (189-1987, college: Miami, OH) accounted for 13 points and 8 assists for the winning side. Beirut Club's coach Marwan Khalil used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Dallas Morgan (185, college: CMU) came up with 19 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals and forward Karim Jadayel (191-1992) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for NSA in the defeat. Four NSA players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains third place with 10-2 record having just three points less than leader Dynamo, which they share with Al Riyadi. NSA lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the ninth position with nine games lost. They share it with Atlas.

Homentmen - Sagesse 67-92

Very predictable result when second ranked Sagesse (11-1) rolled over 9th ranked Homentmen (3-9) in Beirut 92-67 on Saturday. Sagesse dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Homentmen's 30. They outrebounded Homentmen 40-29 including 32 on the defensive glass. Sagesse looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American players dominated the game. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Cliff Alexander (203-1995, college: Kansas, agency: MSG) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds. Kerwin Roach II (192-1996, college: Texas) accounted for 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Joshua Caldwell (203-1991, college: William Penn, agency: Elevate Sports Alliance) came up with 25 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Jesse Jones (183, college: Bridgeport) added 17 points and 6 assists respectively for Homentmen in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sagesse maintains second place with 11-1 record behind leader Dynamo. Loser Homentmen dropped to the eleventh position with nine games lost.

Al Riyadi shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 57.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Al Riyadi made 8 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for the former international guard Amir Saoud (186-1991) who led the winners and scored 32 points and 5 rebounds. Egyptian center Ismail Moneim (205-1976) accounted for 17 points and 6 assists for the winning side. Coach Ahmad Farran's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard David Stanley (175, college: Concordia-SP) came up with 20 points and 7 rebounds and Tunisian Jabeur Makhlouf added 15 points and 13 rebounds respectively for Liders in the defeat.
