Al Riyadi welcomes back Johnson, ex Fuerza Regia- January 8, 2023
POSTED BY: Abdul Hamid Addasi
He managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year (!!!). In 15 LNBP games he averaged 13.1ppg, 2.3rpg and 3.5apg. Johnson also played for Killers in U.S. semi-pro league Big3. In 2010 he was drafted by Idaho Stampede (D-League) in third round (16th overall). He graduated from Azusa Pacific University and it is his 13th (hopefully lucky) season in pro basketball. Johnson has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2012. He is a very experienced player. Johnson has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to ten different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in China (Lhasa), France (Entente Orleans 45), Germany (ALBA Berlin), Israel (Maccabi Rishon), Italy (Varese, Pistoia, Venezia, Trento and Udine), Poland (WKS Slask and Siarka), Turkey (Bandirma), NBA G League (Sioux Falls Skyforce, Texas Legends and Cleveland Charge), Lebanon (Al Riyadi) and The Basketball Tournament (Bluff City). Among many awards he won Mexican LNBP championship title in 2021. Johnson was voted to Asia-Basket.com All-Lebanese League Honorable Mention back in 2019. It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Al Riyadi. His game is described as:
Dominique is an athletic 6'5" combo guard with a strong body and great ability to score and defend. He is an outstanding teammate and personality, a smart player who is better suited in Europe as a scorer and a top defender. Dominique is shockingly successful having come from a NAIA school. Even so, Dominique could easily become one of the top players in Europe even at the Euroleague level.
