The Regular Season in LBL just started. Host teams show no mercy winning all games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
Beirut Club - NSA 101-56 The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of NSA on the court of Beirut Club. Visitors were rolled over by Beirut Club 101-56. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to NSA's 40. They outrebounded NSA 41-30 including a 37-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Beirut Club players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of international power forward Mohamad Haidar (203-1990, college: Michigan Tech) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists. American forward Kenneth Horton (201-1989, college: CCSU, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Five Beirut Club players scored in double figures. American forward Anthony Fairley (203-1999, college: Miles) answered with 11 points and 7 rebounds and Georges Souaid added 14 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) in the effort for NSA. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Beirut Club will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. NSA will play against Antranik in Beirut to get more than just one victory in their record. Dynamo dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Byblos' 32. Dynamo forced 31 Byblos turnovers and outrebounded them 47-29 including 17 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The former international swingman Ahmad Ibrahim (198-1992, college: Rice) stepped up and scored 37 points (!!!) and 4 assists for the winners and American guard Zach Lofton (193-1992, college: NM State, agency: Slash Sports) chipped in 16 points, 9 assists and 4 steals. Four Dynamo players scored in double figures. Dynamo's coach Jad El Hajj felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side naturalized Mexican swingman Dimitri Nader (193-2003) responded with 16 points and 8 rebounds and Mohamed Skaf scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Dynamo will meet Atlas in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Byblos will play against NSA and hope to win that game. American guard Omega Harris (190-1995, college: UTEP) fired 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. His fellow American import guard Keith Charleston (203-1995, college: SE Louisiana) chipped in 16 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Antranik players scored in double figures. The former international swingman Khalil Aoun (195-1990) produced 7 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and Hicham El Helou added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Hoops will play next round against strong Sagesse trying to get back on the winning streak. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will face at home their local rival from Beirut - Sagesse. Antranik will try to continue on its current victory against NSA at home. They outrebounded Atlas 51-35 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Champville looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Canadian-Palestinian forward Shane Osayande (200-1993, college: Saskatchewan) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 17 rebounds for the winners and guard Georges Choueiry (184-1995) chipped in 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Champville's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Pierre Fakhry responded with 24 points and 9 rebounds and Refaat El Ayoubi scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Champville will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Atlas will play against Dynamo and hope to win that game. Sagesse crushed visiting Homentmen by 50 points 99-49. Sagesse dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Homentmen's 24 and made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game, while Homentmen only scored four points from the stripe. Sagesse forced 24 Homentmen turnovers and outrebounded them 53-30 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Sagesse made 7 blocks. American Kerwin Roach II (192-1996, college: Texas) stepped up and scored 34 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import power forward Cliff Alexander (203-1995, college: Kansas, agency: MSG) chipped in 27 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side Andre Tannoury (195-2001) responded with 16 points and Varak Keosheian scored 9 points. Homentmen's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Sagesse's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Beirut to the arena Hoops.
