Beirut Club signs Hayk Gyokchyan

Beirut Club (LBL) signed 31-year old forward Hayk Gyokchyan (203cm-97kg-90, college: F&M) for upcoming 2021-22 season. Gyokchyan played last season at Al Riyadi. In 23 LBL games he had 13.6ppg, 6.6rpg, 2.8apg and 1.2spg. He helped them to win the league title. 2020-21 was a great season as he was named to Asia-Basket.com All-Lebanese League 2nd Team and League Player of the Week (2 times). Gyokchyan also played for BC Dvin in Armenian League A. But in only one game he did not score anything and had only 1 rebound, 2 assists and 1 block.
He was a member of Lebanese U18 National Team between 2006 and 2008.
Gyokchyan has played previously professionally in Lebanon (Sagesse and Homentmen) and Armenia (Aragatz).
He was also voted All-CC Player of the Year back in 2013.
Gyokchyan attended Franklin & Marshall College until 2013 and it will be his ninth season as a professional player.
He could be described: Multi task player who started in High School playing as Point Guard thanks to his ball handling, then switched to Forward in College. Has a great Basketball IQ, very gifted player that can play both under the basket and from outside thanks to his excellent 3 point range. Versatile, can play positions 1 to 4.
