Beirut Club trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 24-17 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 83-89 at the end of the game. Al Riyadi made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for the former international point guard Wael Arakji (194-94) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 5 assists. Naturalized Egyptian power forward Ahmad Ismail (205-76) contributed with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. The former international forward Ali Haidar (201-90, college: Michigan Tech) replied with 26 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Chris Crawford (193-92, college: Memphis) added 22 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Beirut Club. Al Riyadi Beirut posted a narrow 22-20 and then 22-18 rallies to reach 21-point advantage. Beirut replied with a 39-26 surge at the end, but could not upset the favorites. Mighty Sports-Philippines wrapped up its 30th Dubai International Basketball Championship campaign with a 91-76 rout of Homenetmen Lebanon to clinch a bronze.
