Homenetmen lift LBL title - May 15, 2018

    Homenetmen - Al Riyadi 74-59

Homenetmen celebrated LBL title. They rallied past Al Riyadi in the decisive seventh game of the championship series. The game was mostly controlled by Homenetmen. Al Riyadi managed to win fourth quarter 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Al Riyadi 47-36 including 16 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Sam Young (198-85, college: Pittsburgh) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Naturalized Egyptian power forward Ahmad Ismail (205-76) contributed with 8 points, 16 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks for the winners. Homenetmen's coach Joe Nebhan used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American Mike Harris (198-83, college: Rice, agency: IPZ) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and the other American import guard Shannon Shorter (193-89, college: N.Texas) added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Al Riyadi.
