Strangely Astana outrebounded Barsy Atyrau 46-30 including a 16-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Barsy Atyrau looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Michael Mays (178-1999, college: King) who scored 28 points and 6 assists. The other American import forward Marty Jackson (198-2000, college: St.Leo) chipped in 27 points and 9 rebounds. American point guard EJ Day (180-1999, college: Lasell) produced a triple-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 14 assists and international forward Askar Maydekin (203-1997) added 14 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts.
