Forward Aleksei Vereshagin (200-F-1992) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked MBK Kazygurt Shymkent, receiving a Hoops Agents Higher League Player of the Week award for round 37.
The 33-year old player had a double-double of 38 points and 24 rebounds, while his team crushed Barsy 2 (#6, 17-11) with 21-point margin 85-64. Shymkent maintains the 2nd position in Kazakhstan Higher League. They are still close to the very top. Shymkent would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 25-3 record. In the team's last game Vereshagin had a remarkable 65.2% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Shymkent, through which he has constantly improved. Aleksei Vereshagin averages this season 16.8ppg and 8.4rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was young Ivan Barabash (188-G-2007) of Astana Tigers-KazATU. Barabash had a very good evening with 35 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 11-17 record. Barabash is well-known at Tigers-KazATU and is a proven leader in his second season with the team.

Third on the list of top players last round was forward Maksim Nalogov (198-F/C-1994) of MBK Bars Petropavlovsk (#4). Nalogov showcased his all-around game by recording 15 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Bars, leading his team to a 88-59 easy win against the lower-ranked Champ1on (#8, 14-14). Bars is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 23-5 record is not that bad... Nalogov has a great season in Kazakhstan. After 27 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.6ppg (6th best) and rebounds with 8.9rpg (8th best).
