Bazhin's double-double lands him Higher League Player of the Week award

Nikolay Bazhin

35-year old forward Nikolay Bazhin (198-F-1990) had a very impressive game in the last round for second-ranked MBK Kazygurt Shymkent and receives a Hoops Agents Higher League Player of the Week award for round 35.
He had a double-double of 23 points and 13 rebounds, while his team crushed Barsy 2 (#6, 17-11) with 21-point margin 89-68. Shymkent maintains the 2nd position in Kazakhstan Higher League. They are still close to the very top. Shymkent would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 25-3 record. In the team's last game Bazhin had a remarkable 87.5% from 2-point range. He turned to be Shymkent's top player in his first season with the team. Nikolay Bazhin averages this season 13.5ppg, 10.1rpg and 5.8apg.

Second best performed player last round was Issan Musuraliev (185-G-2004) of BK Caspiy Aktau. He is a guard in his first season at Kaspiy-2. In the last game Musuraliev recorded an impressive double-double of 26 points and 11 assists. Bad luck as Caspiy Aktau lost that game 73-105 to the higher-ranked Shymkent (#2, 25-3). Caspiy Aktau are still at the very bottom. 26 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Caspiy Aktau managed to get this year. Musuraliev is a newcomer at Caspiy Aktau and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Nikita Fedchenko (190-G-2004) of Almaty Legion (#5). Fedchenko scored 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Almaty L., leading his team to a 75-71 win against the lower-ranked Tigers-KazATU (#10, 10-16). Almaty L. needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 17 victories and 9 lost games. Fedchenko has a very solid season. In 11 games in Kazakhstan he scored 16.1ppg. He also has 8.3rpg, 3.0spg and a FGP of 72.1%.
