Kazakhstan Higher League round 33 best performance: Platon Gritchin (by Hoops Agents)

Guard Platon Gritchin (190-G-2004) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Almaty Legion, receiving a Hoops Agents Higher League Player of the Week award for round 33.
The 21-year old player was the main contributor (31 points, six rebounds) to his team's victory, helping them to outclass Karaganda (#9, 10-14) with 27-point margin 106-79. Almaty L. maintains the 6th position in Kazakhstan Higher League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Almaty L. will need more victories to improve their 16-8 record. In the team's last game Gritchin had a remarkable five three-pointers out of 9 attempts. He has many years of experience at Almaty L., through which he has constantly improved. Platon Gritchin averages this season 14.2ppg and 6.0rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was young Alexey Alyonushka (190-F-1995) of Karaganda. Alyonushka had a very good evening with a triple-double of 12 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists. Bad luck as Karaganda lost that game 78-83 to slightly higher-ranked Champ1on (#7, 13-11). Karaganda managed to keep the same 9th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 10-14 record. Alyonushka is a newcomer at Karaganda, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.3ppg (#9). His other stats are also decent: 10.5rpg and 5.5apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was forward Bektimir Tau (200-PF-2007) of Champ1on (#7). Tau scored 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Champ1on, leading his team to a 83-78 win against slightly lower-ranked Karaganda (#9, 10-14). Champ1on needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 13 victories and 11 lost games. Tau has a great season in Kazakhstan. After 17 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 12.2rpg (2nd best). He also has 3.9spg and a FGP of 58.4%.
