Artem Parfenov (198-F-1998) had an amazing evening in the last round for MBK Bars Petropavlovsk and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Higher League Player of the Week award for round 31.
The 27-year old forward had a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds, while his team outclassed Oral (#11, 8-20) with 31-point margin 92-61. Bars maintains the 4th position in Kazakhstan Higher League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Bars will need more victories to improve their 19-5 record. In the team's last game Parfenov had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 7 attempts. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Artem Parfenov averages this season 11.6ppg and 7.4rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young guard Meyrambek Shamuratov (180-G-2001) of BQO-ARLANS Oral. Shamuratov impressed basketball fans with 26 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Bad luck as Oral lost that game 79-85 to slightly lower-ranked AiRom (#12, 5-23). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Oral keeps 11th position. 20 lost games are too many comparing to just eight victories Oral managed to get this year. Shamuratov is a newcomer at Oral and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.5ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 4.7rpg and 4.0apg.

The third best performed player last round was another Oral's star - Arsen Batenov (190-SF-2008). Batenov showcased his all-around game by recording 12 points, 13 rebounds (!!!) and 5 assists in the last round. Despite Batenov's great performance the BQO-ARLANS Oral lost 69-82 to slightly higher-ranked Tigers-KazATU (#9, 10-14). But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. Oral can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 8-20 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Batenov has a very solid season. In 21 games in Kazakhstan he scored 7.0ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Maksim Nalogov (198-F/C-1994) of Bars - 20 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Sergey Dyatlik (194-F-1997) of Bars - 14 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Ivan Barabash (188-G-2007) of Tigers-KazATU - 18 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Shyndos Zhumabay (187-G-2005) of Tigers-KazATU - 21 points and 4 rebounds
8. Radmir Baioraz (180-PG-2009) of AiRom - 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Mansur Seilkhanov (184-G-2006) of Oral - 18 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Kirill Lavrenko (195-F/G-2005) of Bars - 17 points and 4 rebounds

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
