Abdurashitova's 15 points and 8 assists give her Player of the Week award

Xeniya Abdurashitova

24-year old point guard Xeniya Abdurashitova (168-PG-2001) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Irtysh Pavlodar-PNHZ and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 31.
She had the game-high 15 points adding eight assists for Irtysh in her team's victory, helping them to outclass Caspiy Aktau (#6, 5-17) with 40-point margin 91-51. Irtysh maintains the 2nd position in Kazakhstan D1. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Irtysh will need more victories to improve their 14-8 record. In the team's last game Abdurashitova had a remarkable three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. She has many years of experience at Irtysh, through which she has constantly improved. Abdurashitova has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in assists (8th best: 3.9apg).

Second best performed player last round was Vira Cherkaska (184-F-2002) of Caspiy Aktau. She is Ukrainian forward in her first season at Caspiy Aktau. In the last game Cherkaska recorded an impressive double-double of 12 points and 15 rebounds. Bad luck as Caspiy Aktau lost that game 62-77 to the higher-ranked Irtysh (#2, 14-8). Caspiy Aktau managed to keep the same 6th spot in the standings. 17 lost games are too many comparing to just five victories Caspiy Aktau managed to get this year. Cherkaska is a newcomer at Caspiy Aktau and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.7ppg (#6). She also registered 14.5 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to another Caspiy Aktau's star - guard Alexandra Petelina (168-PG-1998). Petelina scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Despite Petelina's great performance the Caspiy Aktau lost 62-77 to the higher-ranked Irtysh (#2, 14-8). But her team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. Caspiy Aktau can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 5-17 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Petelina has individually a great season in Kazakhstan. After 20 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.2ppg (2nd best) and assists with 4.8apg (2nd best).
