Elijah Hardy's triple-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

American Guard Elijah Hardy (188-G-1999) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Almaty Legion, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 13.
The 26-year old player recorded a triple-double of 13 points adding also 11 rebounds and 13 assists, while his team edged out Astana (#1, 23-3) 72-69. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Almaty L. maintains the 3rd position in Kazakhstan National League. Almaty L. is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 14-14 record. Hardy turned to be Almaty L.'s top player in his first season with the team. Former California State University San Bernardino star has very solid stats this year. Hardy is in league's top in points (2nd best: 19.4ppg), rebounds (8th best: 5.9rpg), assists (3rd best: 5.4apg) and averages impressive 2.3spg. Worth to mention Hardy played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

The second best player in last round's games was young American EJ Day (180-PG-1999) of league's leader BK Astana. Day had a very good evening with 19 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists. Of course he led Astana to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Caspiy Aktau (#2, 14-12) 75-53. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Astana consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. His team lost just three games this season, while they won 23 matches. Day is a newcomer at Astana, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.3ppg (#6). He also recorded 6.0 assists per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was international center Vladimir Ivanov (208-C-1994) of league's second-best BK Caspiy Aktau. Ivanov scored 13 points and grabbed 17 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Caspiy Aktau, leading his team to a 73-68 win against #1 ranked Astana. Caspiy Aktau needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 14 victories and 12 lost games. Ivanov has a great season in Kazakhstan. After 25 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.1ppg (4th best), rebounds with 10.7rpg (2nd best) and assists with 3.2apg (8th best). He also has 1.3bpg and a FGP of 65.7%.
