Cherkaska's double-double lands her Player of the Week award

23-year old Ukrainian forward Vira Cherkaska (184-F-2002) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Caspiy Aktau and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 28.
She had a double-double of 26 points and 20 rebounds, while her team outclassed Zhetysu (#7, 3-17) with 26-point margin 92-66. Caspiy Aktau maintains the 6th position in Kazakhstan D1. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 15 games and recorded just five victories. In the team's last game Cherkaska had a remarkable 64.3% from 2-point range. She turned to be Caspiy Aktau's top player in her first season with the team. Cherkaska has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (4th best: 16.1ppg).

Second best performed player last round was Anastasiya Ilyasova (185-C-1998). She is international center in her 8th season at Caspiy Aktau. In the last game Ilyasova recorded an impressive double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds. Of course together with Cherkaska she helped Caspiy Aktau with another comfortable win 87-69 over slightly lower-ranked Zhetysu (#7, 3-17) being unquestionably team leader. Caspiy Aktau's 6th position in the standings has not changed. 15 lost games are too many comparing to just five victories Caspiy Aktau managed to get this year. Ilyasova is one of the most experienced players at Caspiy Aktau and similarly like Vira Cherkaska has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to another Caspiy Aktau's star - guard Alexandra Petelina (168-PG-1998). Petelina showcased her all-around game by recording 28 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the last round. She was another key player of Caspiy Aktau, helping her team with a 92-66 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Zhetysu (#7, 3-17). Caspiy Aktau can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 5-15 record places them close to the bottom of the standings.
