D1 Round 27 (Regular Season): Irtysh crush Zhetysu by record 30 points

The game with biggest result difference took place in Pavlodar. Local Irtysh (11-7) outscored 6th ranked Zhetysu (3-15) 92-62 on Monday night. Irtysh forced 23 Zhetysu turnovers and had a 39-26 advantage in offensive rebounds. Irtysh looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Zhetysu's players. The best player for the winners was power forward Tamila Zhakipova (182-2000) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international point guard Liya Umerova (166-2002) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Anzhelika Ikizhanova (165-2007) who recorded 17 points and 5 rebounds. Zhetysu's coach Evgeniy Prokopchik gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Irtysh have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Okzhetpes. Zhetysu lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the bottom position with 15 games lost. They share it with Caspiy Aktau. Irtysh will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Zhetysu will play at home against Caspiy Aktau (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Irtysh dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Zhetysu's 26. Irtysh forced 19 Zhetysu turnovers and outrebounded them 53-32 including a 35-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Irtysh looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Kamazhay Otegenova (180-2001) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds.
