Kazakhstan D1 round 26 best performance: Nadezhda Yakovleva

International Power forward Nadezhda Yakovleva (183-F/C-2003) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Okzhetpes Kokshetay, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 26.
The 22-year old player was the main contributor (23 points, seven rebounds and four assists) to her team's victory, helping them to crush Caspiy Aktau (#7, 3-15) with 18-point margin 69-51. Okzhetpes maintains the 2nd position in Kazakhstan D1. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Okzhetpes will need more victories to improve their 11-7 record. In the team's last game Yakovleva had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range. She has many years of experience at Okzhetpes, through which she has constantly improved. Nadezhda Yakovleva has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (7th best: 15.1ppg), rebounds (6th best: 9.3rpg) and averages impressive 1.2bpg.

The second best player in last round's games was another Okzhetpes' star - young Russian Yuliya Antonevich (178-G-2002). Antonevich had a very good evening with 17 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course together with Yakovleva she helped Okzhetpes Kokshetay with another comfortable win 64-48 over the lower-ranked Caspiy Aktau (#7, 3-15) being unquestionably team leader. Okzhetpes' second position in the standings has not changed. Her team's 11-7 record is not bad at all. Antonevich is a newcomer at Okzhetpes, but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.2ppg (#2). She also registered 4.7 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Okzhetpes' star - former international guard Kamila Amanzholova (163-PG-2004). Amanzholova showcased her all-around game by recording 9 points, 12 rebounds (!!!) and 7 assists in the last round. She was another key player of Okzhetpes Kokshetay, helping her team with a 69-51 easy win against the lower-ranked Caspiy Aktau (#7, 3-15). Okzhetpes needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 11 victories and 7 lost games. Amanzholova has a great season in Kazakhstan. After 17 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 4.1apg (6th best).
