Nurbaeva's double-double lands her Player of the Week award

35-year old center Oksana Nurbaeva (188-C-1990) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's best team Astana Tigers-KazATU and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 25.
She had a double-double of 27 points and 13 rebounds, while her team crushed Turan (#2, 10-10) with 24-point margin 82-58. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Tigers to consolidate first place in the Kazakhstan D1. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. It's already very far into the season and Tigers keeps a perfect 18-0 record. Nurbaeva has many years of experience at Tigers, through which she has constantly improved. Nurbaeva has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in rebounds (4th best: 9.9rpg).

Second best performed player last round was Oksana Bagmet (170-G-1996). She is international guard in her first season at Tigers. In the last game Bagmet recorded an impressive 8 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course together with Nurbaeva she helped Astana Tigers-KazATU with another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Turan (#2, 10-10) 82-58. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Tigers consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. She plays for the best team in the league and Tigers managed to win all 18 games keeping a perfect record. Bagmet is a newcomer at Tigers and despite she is not a team leader yet, every game she becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Aydana Nurmakhambetova (180-PF-2002) of league's second-best Turan Turkestan. Nurmakhambetova showcased her all-around game by recording 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the last round. Despite Nurmakhambetova's great performance the Turan lost 42-71 to #1 ranked Tigers. But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Turan needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 10 victories and 10 lost games. Nurmakhambetova has a very solid season. In 20 games in Kazakhstan she scored 6.9ppg.
