Best players of Kazakhstan Higher League round 21

Experienced International Center Dmitriy Gavrilov (204-C-1986) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's second-best Aktobe and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Higher League Player of the Week award for round 21.
The 39-year old center had a double-double of 26 points and 15 rebounds, while his team edged out Karaganda (#11, 4-11) 82-79. Aktobe is placed at 2nd position in Kazakhstan Higher League. Aktobe has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 16-1. In the team's last game Gavrilov had a remarkable 61.9% from 2-point range. He turned to be Aktobe's top player in his first season with the team. Gavrilov has impressive league stats. He is league's best scorer averaging so far 20.9ppg. Gavrilov is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 13.7rpg) and averages solid 63.5% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young guard Dmitriy Luchko (193-G-1997) of ChelSU Kostanay. Luchko impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 26 points and 12 rebounds. It was enough for ChelSU to edge the lower-ranked Oral (#9, 5-9) by 4 points 77-73. ChelSU's 6th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 11-6 record is not bad and everything may still change. Luchko is a newcomer at ChelSU and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.9ppg (#2). He also registered 10.4 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Meyrambek Shamuratov (180-G-2001) of BQO-ARLANS Oral (#9). Shamuratov showcased his all-around game by recording 29 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the last round. Despite Shamuratov's great performance the Oral lost 73-77 to the higher-ranked ChelSU (#6, 11-6). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Oral not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 9 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Shamuratov could try to bring Oral's a little bit higher in the standings. Shamuratov has individually a great season in Kazakhstan. After 14 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.6ppg (3rd best). He also has 3.6spg and a FGP of 56.1%.
