McGill's double-double lands him Player of the Week award

29-year old American guard Eric McGill (190-G-1996) had a great game in the last round for BK Caspiy Aktau and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
He got a double-double of 20 points and 13 assists, while his team beat Barsy Atyrau (#3, 9-9) 101-91. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Caspiy Aktau maintains the 4th position in Kazakhstan league. Caspiy Aktau is currently ranked second from the bottom. They need more victories to improve their 7-11 record. In the team's last game McGill had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range. He turned to be Caspiy Aktau's top player in his first season with the team. Southern Illinois University graduate has very impressive stats this year. McGill is in league's top in rebounds (9th best: 5.8rpg) and averages solid 3.0spg.

Second best performed player last round was Vladimir Ivanov (208-C-1994). He is international center in his first season at Caspiy Aktau. In the last game Ivanov recorded an impressive double-double of 15 points and 14 rebounds. Of course BK Caspiy Aktau cruised to a 101-91 relatively comfortable win over slightly higher-ranked Barsy Atyrau (#3, 9-9). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Caspiy Aktau consolidated its place in top 4 of the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 7-11 record. Ivanov is a newcomer at Caspiy Aktau and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.4ppg (#3). His other stats are also decent: 10.1rpg and 3.6apg.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Elijah Hardy (188-G-1999) of league's second-best Almaty Legion. Hardy scored 23 points and passed 9 assists. He was a key player of Almaty L., leading his team to a 125-89 easy win against the lower-ranked Tobol (#5, 1-17). Almaty L. needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 11 victories and 7 lost games. Hardy has a great season in Kazakhstan. After 16 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.9ppg (2nd best) and assists with 4.9apg (3rd best). Hardy attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.
