D1 Round 16 (Regular Season): Zhetysu defeat Barsy Atyrau in the closest game of the week

The most exciting game of round 16 in the D1 took place in Taldykorgan. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 4th ranked Barsy Atyrau (5-5) to seventh ranked Zhetysu (2-8) 75-74 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Barsy Atyrau. Zhetysu looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 8 rebounds and who added 16 points and 9 assists during the contest. At the losing side Tamila Zhakipova responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Zhetysu moved-up to sixth place. Barsy Atyrau at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourth position with five games lost. Zhetysu will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Barsy Atyrau will play at home against Okzhetpes (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
