Best players of Kazakhstan Higher League round 18 (by Hoops Agents)

Talented Abat Marat (183-F-2005) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for BK Barsy Atyrau and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Higher League Player of the Week award for round 18.
The 20-year old forward got a double-double of 43 points and 13 assists, while his team edged out Karaganda (#10, 4-9) 97-95. Barsy Atyrau maintains the 3rd position in Kazakhstan Higher League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Barsy Atyrau will need more victories to improve their 14-4 record. In the team's last game Marat had a remarkable 76.9% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 12 attempts. He turned to be Barsy Atyrau's top player in his first season with the team. Marat has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (6th best: 18.7ppg), assists (9th best: 4.3apg) and averages solid 3.1spg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young forward Alexey Alyonushka (190-F-1995) of Karaganda. Alyonushka impressed basketball fans with a triple-double of 30 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists. Bad luck as Karaganda was edged by the higher-ranked Barsy 2 (#3, 14-4) 97-95. Karaganda managed to keep the same 10th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 4-9 record. Alyonushka is a newcomer at Karaganda and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.5ppg (#9). His other stats are also decent: 9.8rpg and 4.8apg.

The third best performed player last round was another Barsy 2's star - Aibolat Omarov (197-F-2006). Omarov showcased his all-around game by recording 29 points, 13 rebounds (!!!) and 8 assists in the last round. He was another key player of BK Barsy Atyrau, helping his team with a 97-95 win against the lower-ranked Karaganda (#10, 4-9). Barsy Atyrau needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 14 victories and 4 lost games. Omarov has a very solid season. In 4 games in Kazakhstan he scored 14.5ppg.
