Papshiv's 38-point game gives him Higher League Player of the Week award

34-year old guard Alexander Papshiv (191-G-1991) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked MBK Kazygurt Shymkent and receives a Hoops Agents Higher League Player of the Week award for round 16.
He had the game-high 38 points adding seven rebounds and five assists for Shymkent in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Tigers-KazATU (#7, 5-10) with 45-point margin 110-65. Shymkent maintains the 2nd position in Kazakhstan Higher League. They are still close to the very top. Shymkent would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 15-2 record. In the team's last game Papshiv had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range and got nine three-pointers out of 14 attempts. He turned to be Shymkent's top player in his first season with the team. Papshiv has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (9th best: 16.6ppg) and averages solid 67.1% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Artur Geints (2004) of MBK Irtysh Pavlodar. He is a in his first season at Pavlodar. In the last game Geints recorded an impressive double-double of 16 points and 14 rebounds. Of course he led Pavlodar to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Kaspiy-2 (#15, 1-16) 93-63. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Pavlodar keeps 14th position. 11 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Pavlodar managed to get this year. Geints is a newcomer at Pavlodar and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third place about best performers goes to another Shymkent's star - forward Nikolay Bazhin (198-F-1990). Bazhin showcased his all-around game by recording 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists (!!!) in the last round. He was another key player of MBK Kazygurt Shymkent, helping his team with a 110-65 easy win against the lower-ranked Tigers-KazATU (#7, 5-10). Shymkent is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 15-2 record is not that bad... Bazhin has a very solid season. In 3 games in Kazakhstan he scored 16.3ppg.
