American Point guard Michael Mays (178-PG-1999) put on an amazing game in the last round for BK Barsy Atyrau, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 26-year old player was the main contributor (43 points, three rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Almaty L. (#2, 9-5) 83-73. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Barsy Atyrau maintains the 3rd position in Kazakhstan National League. Barsy Atyrau is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 6-8 record. In the team's last game Mays had a remarkable 85.7% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 9 attempts. He turned to be Barsy Atyrau's top player in his first season with the team. Former King University star has very solid stats this year. Mays is league's best scorer averaging so far 25.5ppg. Mays is in league's top in and averages impressive 43.5% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was young international forward Anton Bykov (200-F-1989) of MBK Tobol Kostanay. Bykov had a very good evening with 25 points and 8 rebounds. Bad luck as Tobol lost that game 64-85 to league's leader Astana (#1, 14-0). Tobol are still at the very bottom. 12 lost games are too many considering they did not win any game. Bykov is one of the most experienced players at Tobol and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was international center Vladimir Ivanov (208-C-1994) of BK Caspiy Aktau (#4). Ivanov scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. He was a key player of Caspiy Aktau, leading his team to a 92-68 easy win against #3 ranked Barsy Atyrau in a game of the week. The chances of Caspiy Aktau not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 9 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Ivanov could try to bring Caspiy Aktau's a little bit higher in the standings. Ivanov has individually a great season in Kazakhstan. After 13 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.5ppg (3rd best), rebounds with 9.5rpg (#1 in league) and assists with 3.6apg (7th best). He also has 1.2bpg and a FGP of 64.6%.
