Kazakhstan Higher League round 13 best performance: Aleksei Vereshagin (by Hoops Agents)

Forward Aleksei Vereshagin (200-F-1992) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked MBK Kazygurt Shymkent, receiving a Hoops Agents Higher League Player of the Week award for round 13.
The 33-year old player had a double-double of 33 points and 12 rebounds, while his team crushed Karaganda (#11, 2-7) with 16-point margin 94-78. Shymkent is placed at 2nd position in Kazakhstan Higher League. They are still close to the very top. Shymkent would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 12-2 record. Vereshagin has many years of experience at Shymkent, through which he has constantly improved. Aleksei Vereshagin averages this season 15.4ppg and 7.0rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was young Begzod Mammatrimov (198-C/F-2004) of league's leader Turan. Mammatrimov had a very good evening with a double-double of 23 points and 17 rebounds. Of course he led Turan to another comfortable win outscoring Pavlodar (#15, 0-9) 94-35. Of course Turan still keep the league's top spot. He plays for the best team in the league and Turan managed to win all 14 games keeping a perfect record. Mammatrimov is one of the most experienced players at Turan and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was international center Dmitriy Gavrilov (204-C-1986) of Aktobe (#6). Gavrilov scored 22 points and grabbed 19 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Aktobe, leading his team to a 85-54 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Tigers-KazATU (#7, 5-7). Aktobe is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 7-1 record is not that bad... Gavrilov has a very solid season. In 6 games in Kazakhstan he scored 16.7ppg. He also has 13.7rpg and a FGP of 60.7%.

8. Anuar Shakirov (180-PG-2000) of Shymkent - 21 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists
9. Victor Yuldashev (190-G-2002) of Shymkent - 18 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Mukhamedrassul Duissenbay) of Karaganda - 20 points and 13 rebounds
