The most exciting game of round 10 in the D1 took place in Aktau. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 6th ranked Caspiy Aktau (2-6) to seventh ranked Zhetysu (1-5) 72-71 on Sunday evening. Strangely Caspiy Aktau outrebounded Zhetysu 63-45 including a 37-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Zhetysu looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. fired 24 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 7 steals for the winners. chipped in 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Ukrainian forward Vira Cherkaska (184-2002) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points, 30 rebounds and 6 assists for lost side. Newly promoted Zhetysu maintains seventh position with 1-5 record. Caspiy Aktau at the other side keeps the sixth place with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Important game to mention about took place in Pavlodar. Third ranked Irtysh (4-4) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 5th ranked Okzhetpes (2-4) 57-55 in the game for the third place. Undefeated Tigers have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 8-0 record. Barsy Atyrau lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fourth place with four games lost. They share the position with Okzhetpes. Tigers will meet league's second-placed Turan in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Barsy Atyrau will have a break next round.
