Kazakhstan D1 round 9 best performance: Ganna Rulyova (by Hoops Agents)

Ukrainian Power forward Ganna Rulyova (183-F/C-1986, agency: BIG) had a great game in the last round for top-ranked Astana Tigers-KazATU, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 39-year old player had a double-double of 14 points and 27 rebounds, while her team crushed Barsy Atyrau (#4, 2-4) with 23-point margin 80-57. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Tigers to consolidate first place in the Kazakhstan D1. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. It's already very far into the season and Tigers keeps a perfect 8-0 record. It's Rulyova's second year at Tigers and it's hard to imagine this team without her. Ganna Rulyova has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (3rd best: 16.3ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 14.5rpg), assists (5th best: 3.8apg) and averages impressive 53.5% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Ukrainian Vira Cherkaska (184-F-2002) of Caspiy Aktau. Cherkaska had a very good evening with a double-double of 29 points and 13 rebounds. Of course she led Caspiy Aktau to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Zhetysu (#7, 1-5) 83-60. Caspiy Aktau's 6th position in the standings has not changed. 6 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Caspiy Aktau managed to get this year. Cherkaska is a newcomer at Caspiy Aktau, but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.5ppg (#1). Her other stats are also decent: 15.4rpg and 3.1apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was guard Aiya Nurgozhanova (175-SG-2006) of Zhetysu (#7). Nurgozhanova showcased her all-around game by recording 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the last round. Despite Nurgozhanova's great performance the Zhetysu lost 60-83 to slightly higher-ranked Caspiy Aktau (#6, 2-6). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. Nurgozhanova has a very solid season. In 6 games in Kazakhstan she scored 9.7ppg. She also has 4.5rpg and 2.7spg.
